John Travolta shouldn’t beat himself up over his butchering of “Frozen” star Idina Menzel’s name during Sunday’s Oscar ceremony — he just made her career.
Confidenti@l has learned that Tony winner Menzel, aka “Adele Dazeem,” is being such a good sport about Travolta’s mispronunciation of her name that she reportedly even laughed at a fake Playbill insert for her new Broadway show, “If/Then,” reading, “At this performance the role of Elizabeth will be played by Adele Dazeem.”
An insider tells us, “Somebody put that on Twitter; it’s not real.”
Another joker also put up a photoshopped picture of the Richard Rodgers Theatre’s exterior, where a sign for the show reads, “Starring Adele Dazeem.”
Idina “was unruffled” by Travolta’s goof, says one spy.
“She’s been rolling with it,” another source tells us, adding that Menzel was busy rehearsing before Wednesday night’s Broadway opening.
“The show has been selling extremely well,” a rep for “If/Then” told Confidenti@l.
